Congress programme | Dates | Admission fees | Exhibitor directory | Congress organizer I Contact form Record: 5th Leipzig Veterinary Congress exceeds all expectations with a 60 per-cent increase in visitor numbers. The 5th Leipzig Veterinary Congress was more than a great success: visitor numbers up by 60 per cent, excellent lectures and increased levels of internationality - that is the final summary of the forum that ended on 23 January. With 3,450 participants (2008: 2,150) this event in Leipzig has developed into the best attended veterinary congress in Germany. At the same time the industrial exhibition, which is held in parallel, has turned into a highly regarded trade fair. With its wide and varied programme, the Leipzig Veterinary Congress offers a unique forum for professional development and discussion, where veterinary practitioners, qualified veterinary assistants, students and representatives from industry can exchange experiences. In 2012, too, the congress programme stands out because of its up-to-date content and variety. In more than 300 lectures, seminars, workshops and professional development courses, the congress covers all areas of veterinary practice. The spectrum ranges from horses, dogs and cats to ruminants, pigs and poultry as well as to more broadly applicable topics such as medicines and toxicology, food safety, the law and includes animal protection and animal diseases and epidemics. Alongside the national congress, to be held in German, the "International Conference on Equine Reproductive Medicine" (ICERM) will again become a cornerstone of the event. About 150 exhibitors are expected to attend the 'vetexpo' industrial exhibition. Products on show at the trade fair will include those from the fields of medicines and toxicology, diagnostics, dietetics, medical technology and practice management as well as communications technology in veterinary practice. Visitors can also look forward to some attractive evening events, such as the legendary IDT Congress Party, various termly meetings and the Leipzig meeting of veterinary surgeons, which offer opportunities for convivial get-togethers.
