Children & Adolescents.

Read, marvel, join in!

»Literature for Children & Adolescents «

The Fair offers a diverse programme for children and adolescents packed with readings and opportunities to join in. Be it activities in the audiobook and music area, games, painting or making things – your family will love it. Event forums such as the “Lesebude” and the “Lesetreff” offer the chance to meet authors and picture-book creators in person. The Leipzig Book Fair is an experience for the whole family – and with a range of advantages such as discounts on Family Sunday or the child-minding service at the “Fantasy Workshop Kindergarten” – this is the perfect place for a family outing.

» Leipzig Reading Compass «

The Leipzig Reading Compass provides help to anybody who doesn’t want to lose their way in each year’s jungle of new publications. A jury made up of educators, book dealers, young readers and bloggers makes an annual selection of books, audiobooks and learning software that will also encourage non-readers to dive in.

10 books are recommended for each of the following age groups: 2–6 years; 6–10 years; 10–14 years.

» Manga and Anime «

The Leipzig Book Fair is a meeting place for manga and anime fans from all over Germany. Over the four days of the Fair, it’s all about discovering the latest manga and anime, discussing current trends, and watching the top Japanese artists at work, drawing and signing. Young people spend the whole year eagerly anticipating the Book Fair, when they can present themselves in their home-made, creative costumes. Sometimes weird just isn’t weird enough.
